Metropolis CD cover

METROPOLIS

Mike Westbrook

Metropolis was composed during 1968-9. It had been played in various forms by bands ranging from 4 to 25 musicians. This version for big-band was written with the assistance of an Arts Council bursary and was first presented by the London Jazz Centre Society at the Mermaid Theatre, London on May 18, 1969. Re-issued on CD in 1999.
