On Duke's Birthday CD CoverWerner Uehlinger of HatART has reissued Mike Westbrook's 'ON DUKE'S BIRTHDAY' in July 2007 . Dedicated to the memory of Duke Ellington, this is a composition for 11-piece Jazz Orchestra. Premiered at the Maison de Ia Culture, Amiens, May 1984.

Turner in URI
Turner in URIWith music by Mike Westbrook and libretto by Kate Westbrook, based around JMW Turner's travels in the Alps, TURNER IN URI was commissioned by the Alpentoene Festival and premiered in Altdorf and Zurich in 2003. The 75 minute work involves 2 vocal soloists, jazz and rock musicians, 25 voice choir and 30 piece brass band, combined with film projection of paintings by Kate Westbrook.
